Breast Cancer
Breast Cancer
Every twentieth woman on the Earth suffers from breast cancer.
Breast cancer takes first place among all malignant neoplasms and has evident growth tendency. It develops on the basis of the so called pretumor diseases, such as mastopathies and fibro adenomas.
Mastopathy is a pathologic condition of the mammary gland stipulated by endocrine control disorder. Most often mastopathy is found in women of 30-40. While pain in the mammary gland during menstrual period is a norm, during mastopathy it annoys permanently. There can also be nipple discharge. Even soft touch of the mammary glands causes pain. During mastopathy tumor-like nodules are formed in the glands. They are especially visible during premenstrual period and thereafter contract up to full disappearance. Later on more serious changes in the glands tissue take place. During focal mastopathy surgery is inevitable. According to clinical evidence in those avoiding operation, breast cancer develops four times more often than in the whole female population.
Girls and young women may have non-malignant nodular lumps — fibro adenomas. These are clearly localized dense roundish nodules with smooth surface. They freely shift in the mammary tissues and can be multiple.
Mammary glands are an integral part of the reproductive system and highly sensitive to all its changes. Perhaps many women notice that such changes take place not only subject to the age, pregnancy, breast-feeding but also in every menstrual cycle, during which female sex hormones content is irregular. Shortly before menses glands swell, become more sensitive, and thereafter all these symptoms vanish. All these phenomena are normal and physiological.
Oophoritis and cystic ovaries degeneration may result in female sex hormones increase and disturb their elution cycle thus adversely affecting the mammary glands. This initiates formation of small penicilli that thereafter merge. Connective tissue grows up around these penicilli thus causing mastopathy.
Normal functioning of the mammary glands is the best prophylaxis of pretumor diseases and cancer. Women should obligatory retain first pregnancy and parturiate. Abortion of first pregnancy often leads to oophoritis and infertility, which in their turn disturb hormonal exchange. Consecutive pregnancy, prolong breast-feeding and abortion absence favorably influence the mammary glands. Abortion not only interrupts pregnancy but also causes involution of glandular cells. As a result indurations causing mammary glands cancer may form. It has been proved that in regions with minimal number of abortions, prolong breast-feeding and many-children families breast cancer is rarely registered and vice versa.
